Project Description
Chevron Phillips Chemical plans to expand its polyalphaolefins (PAO) business with the construction of a new unit, which will double the company’s PAO production capacity to 120 000 t upon startup in 2024.

The project has established the facility as the largest decene-based LV PAO facility in Europe by volume.

Latest Developments
CPChem announced the successful completion of the expansion of the production unit on November 8, significantly boosting its manufacturing capacity in Europe.

The upgraded facility incorporates advanced electrification technologies to reduce reliance on natural gas and, consequently, helping to lower emissions, and improve long-term energy efficiency. CPChem is also exploring renewable electricity to further minimise the site’s environmental footprint.
